- Language and script are independent
- A Language can be written using many scripts
- One script can be used to write many languages.
- All languages evolve over time.
- Many languages have become extinct and continue to become extinct. Same goes for scripts.
- Languages die giving birth to new languages. Like human beings, Languages inter marry giving birth to new languages.
- It is very difficult to convey something using a language. Same thing means different to different people
- Meanings of words change over time. So, it will be difficult to understand what author wants to say.
- Much are orally transmitted initially. When they are written or documented, there are lot of distortions or errors.
- Errors are added during transaltion and recompilation.
- Over time, original texts are shortened or expanded, changing the meaning of actual contents.
- All facts tend to be distorted over time.
Myths
- Everything presented in a certain language (popular?) is correct and perfect
- Everything written using a language used by religious people is about religion.
- If two language have a common ancestor, both the language speakers claim their's is the original language.
